Rachael Perrin: clarinet

As a classically trained clarinettist Rachael grew up experimenting with jazz, folk and soul music before graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a BMus (hons) in performance and a MMus in leadership.

This journey led her to develop a passion for many styles of music, and an interest not only in genre-based performance but also the impact music can have on individuals and the context in which they live.

Folk music, storytelling and oral traditions are common themes in her projects and enable her to work in a very inclusive way.She is also a member of successful folk fusion collective 'The Stamp Ensemble.'

She is currently working on new ideas about how to harness children's energy, creativity and enthusiasm in performance art.

She has extensive experience of leading workshops with all ages in a variety of contexts both in the UK and internationally.

Rachael believes in making music as accessible as possible for everyone and is constantly putting her creative energy into supporting this belief in community centres, music services, universities, hospitals and schools.
